Sewer Pipe Relining

If you’ve been considering having your sewer pipes replaced, then hear us out. Why? Because why not save yourself time, money, and hard work and let our fully trained KBC Plumbing tradesmen reline your sewer pipes for you. Over the years, research conducted has found relining sewer pipes to be a far more effective in the long run, at a fraction of the hassle, and the time.

Why should you reline your sewer pipes vs replacing the sewer pipes?

One of the biggest benefits that we’ve observed over the years when comparing relining sewer pipes vs replacing sewer pipes is how much more convenient for you choosing to reline your sewer pipes is.

When tasked with redoing a full pipe replacement, our workmen are going to have to dig trenches and excavate part of your property. This comes with the risk of destroying part of your driveway, lawn, and garden. In addition to this, full pipe replacements are often time-consuming, the work can last anywhere from multiple weeks to multiple months in some cases. When you take into account the restoration work, you’ll have to undertake to get your garden back to its former glory, choosing to undertake a full sewer pipe replacement can really take its toll both time-wise and financially.

Alternatively, relining your sewer pipes requires minimal excavation. It’s far more localised, meaning that all we need to reline your pipes is a single access hole. This, therefore, means that the time spent is significantly lessened – most work when we reline your sewer pipes can be completed within days, and you’ll have to spend far less time completing any restoration work too. However, it wouldn’t be fair of us not to let you know that there are some jobs that pipe relining can’t fix. However, we will never sell you a relining if we’ve conducted an assessment and found out that you have severe and extensive damage to your sewer pipes.

What problems can relining sewer pipes fix?

At KBC, we understand that the majority of people will absolutely have no idea what pipe relining is, or have any idea why they would reline their sewer pipes, let alone what problems could potentially be lurking underneath, or how important it is to do it. That’s what we’re here to tell you.

Sewer pipe relining is a suitable fix for a wide range of problems. These problems are usually start off as structural damage issues. It takes care of issues such as cracks, pipe sagging, misaligned pipes and the more sinister and notorious tree root damage, which unfortunately is far more common than a lot of us would like to think. Choosing to get your pipes relined with KBC Plumbing, you are not only fixing the majority of these issues in the immediate term, but you are also preventing them in the future.

Repair pipes in place with no digging

What is Pipe Lining?

Pipe Lining uses trenchless technology and requires little or no earthworks to deliver a fast and permanent solution for repairing blocked and damaged pipes. Traditionally pipes have been dug up and replaced; now KBC Plumbing offers a cleaner, cost effective alternative without the disruption of excavation.

Our pipe lining technology is so flexible that it can be used to reline continuous lengths of pipe or provide short patches, reline multiple bends, boundary traps or create one-piece junction repairs. Suitable for storm water or sewerage pipes, KBC Plumbing system can be applied to pipe diameters ranging from 40mm up to 450mm

How does Pipe Lining work?

  • CCTV is used to inspect and survey damaged pipes from existing access points
  • Pipes are then cleaned using high pressure water jets and prepared for relining
  • A liner is impregnated with epoxy resin and a deflated packer tube is inserted into the liner
  • The liner is then inserted into the damaged pipe
  • Once in position, the packer inflates and expands the liner to form the shape of the existing pipe
  • This creates a new pipe within the damaged pipe
  • The resin cures to form a permanent replacement pipe
  • The packer is then removed to allow for immediate use of the pipe
  • The epoxy resin used in KBC Plumbing’s system is chemically engineered specifically for pipe lining. It has the structural properties of a PVC pipe, offering the same hardness and flexibility as PVC, and is now certified to meet Australian Standards.

What are the advantages?

It’s the fast alternative

The use of trenchless technology means little or no excavation work is required. This results in minimal disruption to the surrounding area and faster job completion.

KBC Plumbing uses superior quality resins, engineered, manufactured and tested in Germany to ensure fast curing times and pipes that are ready for immediate use.

It’s the flexible option

Our pipe lining materials are structurally sound so they can span a range of pipe diameters, seamlessly line multiple bends and patch missing sections of pipe, all with the structural integrity of a permanent new pipe.

It’s a safer choice

By eliminating the need for destructive excavation, we are also eliminating the serious OH&S risks involved with operating heavy machinery and the risk of injury or death associated with deep excavation.

High quality materials and workmanship

KBC Plumbing only uses high quality, chemical resistant liners and styrene-free, non-toxic resins in our pipe lining process. Our high performance materials are engineered, manufactured and tested in Germany using world’s best practice and are Watermarked for Australian Standards.

It’s the cost effective solution

Excavating the area and replacing pipes is time consuming and expensive; using trenchless technology removes the need to dig and lowers labour costs. KBC Plumbing system means the job is completed quickly, cleanly and cost effectively.

Pipe Lining is the permanent solution

The combination of trenchless technology, years of experience and superior quality materials allow KBC Plumbing to provide long-term pipe lining solutions with minimal disruption to tiled, landscaping and paved areas.

Our high performance materials create a perfectly stable laminate layer within damaged pipes. This layer has the structural integrity of a new pipe; it can stand alone, even spanning voids in damaged pipes to create a new pipe within the old one. The result is a permanent repair to the damaged pipe, completed without excavating the surrounding area.
